Sean Christopher Wyeth

Lobster Dories : H:36" W:47" Oil on Canvas 2003
Sean Wyeth, apprenticed 1977-1980 under renowned artist Nelson Shanks, who taught him oil painting structure and technique. Shanks sent Wyeth to the Cape School of Art in 1979 to learn color translation under Henry Hensche, a disciple of Claude Monet. Working in oil and watercolor, his subject matter includes portraiture, figurative, genre, landscape, still life, history painting, and fantasy.
Sean's oil paintings and watercolors are painted mostly from memory, using deep symphonic color notes reflective of Rembrandt, creating a reality that goes beyond representation...
Wyeth's paintings and drawings have been added to many distinguished American and European collections.
